Little green minds
Recently, there has been a lot of criticism of Charles Johnson's blog "Little Green Footballs." I'm afraid I must disagree with some of the criticisms from people I read frequently (such as Max Sawicky here, Nick Denton here, Andrew Northrup here, Anil Dash here, and Aaron Hawk here. I think Charles is determined, relentless, driven, even obsessed and monomaniacal. While some of his readers/commentators seem to be motivated by a generic anti-Islamic fervor, I am not about to judge them solely based on a post to a blog, of all things. I think that Charles is doing all us a favor by pointing out the (frequent) hypocrisy and blatant lies of certain Arab "friends," their support for terrorism, and the insidious hate speech which passes for religion in many mosques. I also agree with his unswerving support for Israel, but I would place myself more strongly in the old Labor camp, not among the zealots and fascists of Likud and the settlers movement. Nevertheless, it's free speech and often correct. In addition, Little Green Footballs certainly sets the standards for blog design and functionality. I'm in the process of trying to duplicate the script of his referrers page which is much better than the current referrers link I have.
